Project Description
Located on the North Fork of the Lewis River in Cowlitz County, WA, the Yale Boat Launch and Day Use Facility underwent significant upgrades led by MacKay Sposito. The scope of work included comprehensive services such as land use planning, civil engineering, landscape architecture, land surveying, and construction management. Enhancements to the facility included ADA-compliant boat ramps and floats, a redesigned truck and trailer parking area, new queuing and tie-down zones, trails, picnic areas, a new vault toilet, and improved camp host sites.
A primary goal was to improve traffic efficiency, reduce circulation conflicts, and bring the site up to current ADA code requirements. With a redesigned parking lot using grassed parking spaces, the parking lot served a dual purpose. Defining parking zones and functioning as a Best Management Practice (BMP) for stormwater treatment. MacKay Sposito coordinated environmental permitting with PacifiCorp, developed complete bid documentation, and provided construction management services during construction.
