Project Description
The Wanapum Spillgate Rehabilitation project focused on a comprehensive four-year upgrade of all twelve spill gates at Wanapum Dam on the Columbia River in Grant County, Washington. The scope of work included lead abatement and repainting of all gate surfaces and trunnion arms, refurbishing and replacing trunnion bearings and bushings, installing friction sensors, and correcting alignment. The project also replaced side gate seals to ensure optimal operational performance.
MacKay Sposito provided full-time construction inspection services during swing shifts to support Grant County Public Utility District No. 2’s staff. Their involvement was critical in ensuring quality control, enhancing job site safety, and maintaining construction momentum despite environmental challenges.
