Project Description

MacKay Sposito led the team to restore the Parker Estates storm pond to its original capacity. The project addressed challenges caused by sediment buildup and downstream beaver activity, which threatened the pond’s capacity and the operation of a nearby pump station. MacKay Sposito implemented environmentally conscious solutions, including low-maintenance beaver pond flow control devices that preserved three active beaver colonies while safeguarding infrastructure.

MacKay Sposito collaborated with a local beaver expert for all wildlife-related design and ensured the project avoided federal permitting and impacts to critical areas. They led the development of the SEPA checklist, secured hydraulic project approval, and prepared necessary stormwater permits and pollution prevention plans to support successful project execution.
