- The project includes stormwater management, utility relocation, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) integration, roadway lighting, and ADA-compliant pedestrian features.
Project Description
The NE Ward Road / NE Davis Road Intersection Improvement project is a federally funded safety initiative led by Clark County to enhance a key intersection near the Vancouver urban growth boundary. Currently controlled by a stop sign and lacking dedicated turn lanes, lighting, and shoulders, the intersection has been prioritized on the county’s Transportation Safety Management Program (TSMP) list for improvements. This project will transform the intersection into a modern single-lane roundabout designed to enhance safety, simplify turning movements, and improve traffic operations. By addressing current limitations, the project aims to support long-term growth, reduce the potential for serious crashes, and create a more efficient and accessible travel experience for all users.
The scope of work includes civil engineering design, environmental documentation and permitting, land surveying, geotechnical evaluation, utility coordination, and right-of-way acquisition support. The roundabout will incorporate ADA-compliant features, stormwater management systems, raised median chicanes, and integrated traffic monitoring equipment into the county’s ITS.
