Project Description

Lewis Street, Pasco’s Main Street, underwent a major transformation to rejuvenate the corridor and its adjacent downtown urban park plaza. MacKay Sposito led the design of three blocks of this revitalization effort, aiming to improve safety, support local businesses, and enhance the downtown experience. The project included infrastructure upgrades to streets, sidewalks, and utilities while integrating flexible public spaces suitable for events like farmers’ markets and First Fridays.

Key components of the project involved field investigations to resolve underground utility and access issues, thoughtful construction phasing to reduce business disruptions, and incorporating modern urban design elements such as parklets, bike storage, and outdoor seating areas. Extensive community engagement and coordination with nearby projects ensured the final design reflected public input and cohesive downtown development.
