Project Description

In 2023, the Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools commissioned MacKay Sposito to design and permit a new Construction Trades Building at Hudson’s Bay High School. With tight budgetary and scheduling constraints, the team efficiently navigated multiple design iterations and site analyses. Through strategic planning and effective communication, they selected a site adjacent to existing pathways and utility systems, minimizing infrastructure improvement costs and ensuring seamless integration with the campus.

A notable aspect of the project was including students in the development process. During the onsite topographic survey, students received hands-on instruction with professional surveying equipment, providing valuable practical experience and a direct connection to the building’s creation. This engagement enriched their educational experience and instilled a sense of pride and investment in the facility.

The Endeavour Technical Trades Center opened in May 2025. This state-of-the-art facility is a testament to collaborative planning, educational innovation, and community investment in vocational training.
