Project Description
Columbia Tech Center is a 500-acre master-planned development that has transformed a reclaimed rock quarry into a vibrant, mixed-use employment hub in Vancouver, Washington. Designed to accommodate a range of uses—including office, light industrial, retail, and residential—the site also features a 14-acre central park and amphitheater, promoting community engagement and outdoor recreation. Emphasis on pedestrian accessibility is evident through its extra-wide, meandering sidewalks that encourage walkability throughout the development.
MacKay Sposito has served as the master engineer for most of the project’s lifecycle, providing civil design, surveying, and entitlement services since 1995. Our team has played a key role in five development agreement modifications, boundary expansions, and successfully designing and permitting over a dozen individual sites. Major infrastructure contributions include the extension of SE Mill Plain Boulevard and the design of two internal collector streets. Columbia Tech Center is now home to major employers such as Nautilus, Hewlett-Packard, PeaceHealth, and Banfield Pet Hospital.
