Project Highlights
- Designed stormwater retrofits at three City of Camas facilities: Public Works Operations Center, Fire Station 42, and Lacamas Lodge.
- Incorporated cost-saving, low-impact, and Department of Ecology (DOE)-compliant stormwater solutions for site-specific challenges, including phosphorus treatment and fueling runoff control.
Project Description
MacKay Sposito led the design and planning to enhance stormwater treatment and management at three critical municipal sites: the Public Works Operations Center, Fire Station 42, and Lacamas Lodge. The project focused on converting gravel surfaces to impervious pavement, retrofitting outdated stormwater systems, and improving water quality through advanced treatment and containment strategies. Specific considerations included compliance with DOE and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements, fuel spill control, phosphorus reduction, minimizing environmental impacts, and permitting requirements.
MacKay Sposito collaborated with Riparia Environmental (a subsidiary of MacKay Sposito) to incorporate construction-informed stormwater retrofit strategies and maintenance insights tailored to each site’s operational needs. Their team supported field investigations, design development, and phosphorus treatment planning, particularly within the Lacamas Lake watershed. Leveraging this multi-disciplinary approach, MacKay Sposito delivered practical, site-specific solutions aligned with City priorities, regulatory standards, and long-term infrastructure goals.
