Project Description
The Camas Citywide Sports Field Assessment and Planning project, led by MacKay Sposito, comprehensively evaluated nine City-owned athletic fields and court locations. The project aimed to create a strategic, data-driven management tool to help the City of Camas maintain, improve, and expand its athletic facilities in response to growing community demand. The process included reviewing existing documents, conducting field site assessments, analyzing current use and demand, and engaging with various stakeholders such as youth leagues, schools, and local government representatives.
The plan identified system gaps through robust community outreach and collaboration and proposed practical, phased improvement strategies. Recommendations included ADA compliance checks, potential renovations, level of service benchmarks, partnership opportunities, and a long-term operations and maintenance framework. The final plan delivers actionable steps supported by conceptual site plans and rough order of magnitude cost estimates to guide future city investments in recreational infrastructure.
